Project Overview

GEM Joinery was appointed by Walls Construction to deliver the full specialist joinery package for the new ESB Headquarters — a landmark office development on Fitzwilliam Street, Dublin 2, designed to reflect ESB’s vision for a modern, sustainable, and collaborative workplace.

Working in close partnership with O’Mahony Pike Architects, Grafton Architects, and the main contractor, Walls, GEM Joinery developed detailed production drawings from early design stages through to final installation. The project required precise execution across a variety of high-traffic, high-specification spaces with a focus on acoustic performance, durability, and refined detailing. Key features included:

  • Acoustic timber wall panelling in solid and veneered Sycamore, delivering warmth and sound control
  • Bespoke tea stations and workbenches to support flexible, modern work styles
  • Tiered seating units for informal collaboration and presentations
  • Custom privacy screens for spatial division with a clean, contemporary finish
  • Barista bars and reception desks crafted in premium materials for key amenity zones

The new ESB Headquarters was awarded Building Project of the Year at the Irish Building and Design Awards 2022 — a testament to the quality and collaboration of all involved.
